The Terran takes no advertising money and answers to no owner. That independence is the whole point of the outlet, and it is also the reason it needs its readers.

We are deliberate about what we will not do to fund this work. No programmatic ads crowding the page. No paywall between the reporting and the people it is written for. No donor whose expectations we would have to consider before publishing.

Membership is coming

Later this year we are opening a membership for readers who want to carry the work directly. Members will get a members' edition of Terran Weekly, early access to the long-form essays, and a say in what we investigate next. Pricing will be honest and cancellation will be one click.

We are building it properly rather than quickly, which is also how we intend to run it.
